Signature week — annual
The Summer Republic
One week. The same families. Every year. Not a festival and not a retreat but a week where the houses fill and nobody has anywhere else to be.

The week
Designed to be repeated
The first year is pleasant. The third year is the point. Familiarity is the whole design brief: the same households, the same dates, the same walk to the water, until a group of families has a shared history that did not exist before.
Numbers are capped. We would rather turn people away than dilute the thing that makes it work.
Rhythm
Four fixed points a day
- 06:30
- The hill. Optional, and yet most people come.
- 09:00
- Houses do their own mornings. Nothing is scheduled.
- 16:00
- The water. Children first, adults eventually.
- 20:00
- One table. Everybody. Every night.
